14th National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad Competition (North Region)-2023

The 14th National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad Competition (North Region)-2023 was held at MIST on February 9, 2024, at the MIST premises. A total of 164 students from 18 universities participated in this competition, with the top 10 advancing to the next round. Two MIST students performed extraordinarily among the top 10 participants; they are: Maj Mahboob from the CE Department, securing 4th place, and Md Raihan from the CSE Department, securing 6th place.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Air Commodore MD Aminul Haque, ndc, psc. Two of the special guests of the Olympiad were: Dr. Md Manirul Alam, Professor of Mathematics, BUET, and Dr. Chandra Nath Poddar, Professor of Mathematics, DU. Col Eare Md Morshed Alam (M.Phil., PhD), Head of the Department of Science and Humanities, acted as the Convener of the event.
All the participating students and guests praised the well-organized event with positive feedbacks and wishes. The question-answer session was particularly noteworthy; students from different universities were much inspired in organizing similar academic activities.
Overall, the 14th National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad Competition (North Region)-2023 at MIST showcased an overall excellence, leaving a lasting impression on all involved.
